V-Hawks soar past Mount Mary, Karweick with Hat Trick

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks traveled to Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon to face off against the Blue Angels of Mount Mary. The V-Hawks came away with a deafening 9-0 shutout victory. The V-Hawks improve to 6-5 on the season and 5-4 in conference play. The Blue Angels fall to 0-10 and 0-7 in the CCAC. 

Throughout the game, Kelcie Karweick impressively had three goals, notching a hat trick on the night. Anna Prokopec Urueta added two goals as well. The other four goals were scored by Evelyn Shaw, Brynlee Kelly, Hadley Dammer, and Elle Hager. Brynlee Kelly also added four assists. Lily Robinson, Carolin Burgard, and Ashlee Tupper each added assists to the tally as well. 

The V-Hawks took 39 shots in the game with 19 of them landing on goal. Of those 19, the V-Hawks scored on nine. The V-Hawks also took seven corner kicks to the Blue Angels' one. Defensively, Erin Brooks recorded one save and the V-Hawks completed a shutout victory.

• 11' - Anna Prokopec Urueta scored the first goal of the game, assisted by Ashlee Tupper. 
• 11' - Only 20 seconds later, Anna Prokopec Urueta scored a second goal, assisted this time by Brynlee Kelly. 
• 24' - Kelcie Karweick scored the third goal of the night for the V-Hawks on a penalty kick. 
• 29' - Kelcie Karweick scored her second goal of the night, the fourth for the V-Hawks, on a free kick. 
• 46' - Shortly out of halftime, Hadley Dammer scored on an assist from Brynlee Kelly. 
• 73' - Elle Hager got assisted by Lily Robinson to score the sixth goal of the night for the V-Hawks. 
• 80' - Brynlee Kelly scored her first of the night, assisted by Carolin Burgard.
• 87' - With three minutes left in the game, Kelcie Karweick notched her third goal to complete the hat trick, assisted by Brynlee Kelly. 
• 88' - With just over a minute left in the game, Evelyn Shaw scored the final goal for the V-Hawks, assisted by Brynlee Kelly.  

UP NEXT 

The V-Hawks will return home on Tuesday, October 21 to face off against Saint Xavier. Kickoff is set for 3pm. The Women's Soccer Senior Day is scheduled for 3:30pm on October 25th.
