Six V-Hawks Earn All-Conference Honors, Headlined by Jada Mitchell
CHICAGO, Illinois -- The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced on Monday the annual women's volleyball All-Conference Awards. The V-Hawks earned three First Team selections, the most of any school in the conference. The V-Hawks also picked up two Second Team selections. In addition to the first and second team recipients, the V-Hawks earned a Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honor as well.
Jada Mitchell, Sr., MB, First Team All-CCAC, Player of the Year – Jada Mitchell earns yet another pair of honors to her long list of awards during her time at Viterbo. Mitchell's Player of the Year honor is her second, and her First Team All-Conference award is the fourth of her career. This season, Mitchell has added 305 kills and 156 blocks to the tally. She became the second V-Hawk to break the 500 career blocks threshold this season, and she currently leads the conference in hitting percentage with 0.382 on the season. Mitchell also leads the conference in blocks per set with 1.30.
Izzy Jahr, So., OH, First Team All-CCAC – Izzy Jahr earns First Team All-CCAC for the first time in her career after a breakthrough season. This year, Izzy Jahr has added 281 kills, 45 blocks, and 92 digs for the V-Hawks. She reached the 500-career kill threshold this season, and she posted a career-high 28 kills in the V-Hawks' matchup against #5 Northwestern. Jahr also earned conference player of the week honors earlier this season. This season, Jahr has earned double-digit kills in 12 games for the V-Hawks.
Sadie Treptow, Sr., RS, First Team All-CCAC – Sadie Treptow earns First Team All-CCAC for the first time in her career after being named to the second team for the past two years. Treptow has become a difference maker this year, posting 246 kills and 112 total blocks this season. She has accounted for over 300 points for the V-Hawks this year, and she hit the 500-kill threshold just last week in the V-Hawks' match against Trinity Christian. Treptow also adds 43 digs this season.
Maddie Connor, Sr., S, Second Team All-CCAC – Maddie Connor earns Second Team All-Conference honors for the second time in her career. This season, Maddie Connor has reached new heights, breaking through the 2500 assists mark. Connor has put up 665 assists this season and has added 167 digs as well in her senior season campaign. Maddie Connor also has added 53 aces this season, breaking the Viterbo record for career-aces with 183 in her career.
Resse Germann, Fr., Libero, Second Team All-CCAC – Resse Germann earns all-conference for the first time in her career. Resse Germann's freshman campaign included 587 digs and 44 service aces. Earlier in the season, Resse Germann earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after a strong performance. Germann averages 4.81 digs per set this season. She surged over the 500 career digs threshold quickly.
Ryan Delong, Head Coach, Coach of the Year – Ryan DeLong earns Coach of the Year honors for the fifth year in a row. He guided the V-Hawks to a 27-6 record so far this season, upsetting the #1 ranked Indiana Wesleyan in preseason and earning another undefeated 18-0 conference record. He qualifies for the NAIA National Tournament a 12th year and earned his 11th regular-season conference title and 11th conference tournament championship. His career record improves to 646-212 (0.753).
The V-Hawks will continue their season in the NAIA National Opening Round that is set for Saturday, November 22nd. Time, location, and opponent are to be determined at the NAIA Selection show on Monday, November 17th at 4pm.
