Mitchell Earns CCAC Honors for Second Time this Season

CHICAGO, Ill. – The CCAC announced their weekly honors on Tuesday morning. They announced that Jada Mitchell has earned Defender of the Week for the second time this season. Her first honor came back in September when she earned both the Defender and Attacker of the Week honors.


Jada earns this award after a strong performance in last week's matches. In her performance against St. Francis, Mitchell put up five blocks over the Saints, averaging out to 1.67 blocks per set in her three-set campaign. Against Mount Mary, Jada appeared in two sets, adding four blocks to average out to two blocks per set. Overall, she contributed nine blocks on a 1.8 blocks per set average.


Jada additionally added 17 kills and zero errors last week for a 0.459 hitting percentage. Overall, Jada added 22 points for the V-Hawks last week to average 4.4 points per set.


This week, Jada and the V-Hawks will be competing in the conference tournament. The quarterfinal matchup is set for Tuesday night in La Crosse. The V-Hawks will face off against the Redhawks of Indiana Northwest. First serve is set for 6pm in R.W. Beggs, Sr. Gymnasium.
The winner of the match will advance to the semifinals on Thursday night. The Championship match will be on Saturday. All games will be played at the site of the higher seeded team.
