Sophomore Izzy Jahr Earns Weekly Conference Honors
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their weekly honors on Tuesday morning. Sophomore Izzy Jahr of Holmen, Wisconsin was recognized as the conference's attacker of the week after an impressive performance against #3 Northwestern last week.
In their competition last week, Jahr was unstoppable. She was able to put down 28 kills in five sets, the sixth most in a five-set match in V-Hawk program history. The 28-kill performance came with solid efficiency as well, with Jahr hitting at a 0.327 clip throughout the competition. On 52 total attempts, Jahr made only 11 errors to her 28 kills.
Additionally, 28 kills is a new career high for the sophomore outside. Her previous career high was 16 kills, and it was set last weekend when the V-Hawks played against Governors State on October 11. Her 16 kills assisted in the five-set victory over the conference foes.
This honor is the first conference recognition for the sophomore.
Izzy and the V-Hawks return to play on Tuesday, October 21 against the Eagles of Judson. First serve is set for 6pm on the V-Hawks home court. The team remains on their home court on Thursday, October 23 for another conference competition against Calumet at 7pm.
