Germann Earns Defensive Player of the Week Honors

CHICAGO, Ill. – After a strong week for the libero, Resse Germann has been named the week seven Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman out of Fulton, Illinois, earns this award for the first time of her career.


Last week, Germann put up 38 digs across two conference matches, averaging at 5.43 digs per set. Against Olivet Nazarene, Germann earned 22 digs, and against Indiana South Bend, she had 16 digs. Throughout the week, Germann also added three aces and two assists.


Germann received 52 balls last week off the serve, and she only errored on one occasion across seven sets. Her receiving percentage was 0.981, and she had a perfect 1.000 receiving percentage against Indiana South Bend.


Germann helped the team to two conference victories last week, improving the V-Hawks to 14-5 overall and 8-0 in conference play. Resse and the V-Hawks will return to the court on Tuesday, October 7 against the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose. The game will start at 7pm, and it is the annual Dig Pink Game for breast cancer awareness and fundraising.
