V-Hawks Take 2nd at Indoor CCAC Meet, Four Individual Champions

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- The V-Hawks headed east to Bourbonnais to face off in the CCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. After their two days of competition, the V-Hawks finished in second place as a team, earning four individual championships and one MVP award. Throughout the competition, the V-Hawks landed themselves in the top-five of competitions more than 15 times.

The first champion, and the CCAC Most Outstanding Field Performaner, was Izzy Keck. Keck was able to vault herself a height of 3.65m for the championship. Her vault qualifies her for nationals yet again. Right behind her was teammate Emily Ludwig with a 3.55m for a second-place finish.

The next championship went to junior Emily Ludwig. Ludwig raced a 9.05s in the 60mH to take the first place finish. Right behind her was teammate Avery Poppe with a 9.06s finish, a personal best for the sophomore.

Rhianna Robinson claimed the conference championship in the triple jump with a new school record. Robinson earned the first place finish after an impressive 11.45m performance, shattering the school record that she previously set this year.

The final conference championship was freshman Olivia Weber's pentathlon finish. Weber earned first place with a score of 2494. The V-Hawks swept the podium in the pentathlon, with Sadie Sanders picking up second, and Emily Lubinsky coming in third.

Avery Poppe shined in the 400m race as well with a time of 59.24s. Her time gave her a fourth place finish at the meet. On the field, Izzy Keck and Olivia Weber took fourth and fifth respectively in the high jump. In the long jump, Avery Poppe, Braylee HYatt, and Lillia Chvatal took second, third, and fifth respectively.

The final top finisher on the field was Isabel Rubenzer. Rubenzer earned a fifth place finish in the shot put with an 11.17m throw. The final team on the podium was the women's 4x400m race, consisting of Avery Poppe, Loganne Marks, Lydia Reis, and Lainey Teynor.
