V-Hawks finish in second place at NSAA Conference Championships

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Viterbo Women's Outdoor Track and Field team completed their final events at the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Conference Championships today. Six more V-Hawks and two more relay teams were named all-conference for their performances at the meet. The Viterbo Track and Field team finished in second place out of six teams with a total score of 201.50. With that score and finish, the team broke the all-time program record for points at the conference meet and had their highest finish in program history.

Tess Durscher earned all-conference in three events. Yesterday she placed third in pole vault at 3.13m (10' 3.23"). Today, Dursher placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:11.56. She was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team with Aimee Kemper, Claudia Schunk, and Breanna Ihde that took third with a time of 4:24.98. 

Ihde also took third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.53. Ihde's 4x100-meter relay team with Lana Yeakel, Ashley Veronen, and Schunk also took first with a time of 50:40, tying their personal record.

Veronen won the high jump with a personal-best jump of 1.58m (5' 2.20"). Yeakel won and set a school record and personal record in the long jump at 5.50m (18' 0.53"). Two V-Hawks earned all-conference in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Anya Hirsch won with a personal-best time of 12:51.18 and Megan Scheuer placed third with a time of 13:08.75.
