V-Hawks Pick Up Win over Indiana South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The V-Hawks traveled to South Bend to face off against the Titans. The V-Hawks came away with another win to improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in CCAC competition. The Titans fall to 2-5-1 overall and 0-2 in conference competition. Over the course of the matchup, the V-Hawks were able to score three goals, with freshman Paxten Bristol leading the way with two. Natalie Graham also scored in the match, marking her first goal of the season, second of her career. 

Throughout the match, Viterbo out shot the Titans 23 to 6 and landed 15 of their shots on goal. The V-Hawks also had four more corner kicks than the Titans with seven. Defensively, goalkeeper Madison Zilm held the Titans to a scoreless game, collecting four saves. 

V-HAWK SCORING

  • 25' - Freshman Paxten Bristol got fed the ball from Brynlee Kelly early in the game and found the back of the net to score. This goal was Bristol's third of the season. 
  • 29' - Four minutes after the first score, sophomore Natalie Graham got a clear look at the goal and scored her first of the season unassisted. 
  • 61' - In the second half, Paxten Bristol got the ball once again from freshman Brynlee Kelly to score a second time in the game. Bristol earned her fourth goal of the season.

The V-Hawks travel to Elgin, Ill. on Tuesday, September 23 to face off against the Judson Eagles. The game will kickoff at 1 pm.
