V-Hawks Pick Up 10th CCAC Win

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks hosted the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose on Saturday for another CCAC face off. The V-Hawks came away with the 81-70 victory at the end, defeating the Bees of St. Ambrose. The V-Hawks improve to 12-11 on the season and 10-6 in CCAC competitions. The Bees fall to 11-13 and 8-8 in the CCAC with the loss. 

Offensively, Nora Tucker led for the V-Hawks with a 21 point performance on 8-17 shooting from the field and 4-9 from the three. Pearla Teko-Folly added a new career-high points with 17 on 8-10 shooting from the field. Also with a career-high was Chloe Auth. Auth picked up 18 points on 7-10 shooting from the field (1-3 from the three) and 3-4 at the free throw line. Defensively, Pearla Teko-Folly impressed with nine rebounds and four blocks. Kira John also added seven rebounds as well as two blocks. Auth picked up four steals for the V-Hawks and Marley Hughes added three. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The V-Hawks took the early 10-0 lead
• They held their lead at 14-6 with scoring from Chloe Auth
• A three for Nora Tucker gave the V-Hawks a 19-6 lead
• After the first, the V-Hawks had a 24-14 lead
• In the second, Pearla Teko-Folly scored to give the V-Hawks a 29-20 lead
• The V-Hawks held their lead at 39-32 going into the half
• Out of halftime, Nora Tucker scored first
• Scoring from Kira John extended the V-Hawk lead to 60-46
• At the end of the third, the V-Hawks were up 60-48
• Pearla Teko-Folly and Nora Tucker scored early in the fourth
• A layup by Chloe Auth pushed the V-Hawks to 70 points
• The Bees attempted to fight back in, but free throws from Carly Drew gave the V-Hawks the 80-67 lead
• The V-Hawks came out victorious 81-70
