Women's Basketball falls short in NSAA Quarterfinal game

DICKINSON, N.D. - The Viterbo University Women's Basketball team's season came to an end on Tuesday at Dickinson State University, after the V-Hawks lost on a three-pointer in the final seconds to the Blue Hawks. 

The No. 5 seeded V-Hawks fought until the end at No. 4 Dickinson State, going into the locker room up 33-31. The game saw more than ten tied scores and Viterbo led for a majority of the game, but the Blue Hawks outscored the V-Hawks 21-17 in the fourth quarter to pick up the win. 

Each team had 19 turnovers, but Dickinson State was able to capitalize on those turnovers more than Viterbo, outscoring them 22-14 in points off turnovers. The Viterbo bench was strong, scoring 27 of their 67 points in the night. At the top of those bench points was senior Brook Becker, who scored a team-high 15 points in the game. 

Senior Kacie Gross scored 13 points and had a team-high seven rebounds. As a team, Viterbo went 11-13 from the free-throw line and shot an impressive 43.1 percent from the field and a solid 30.0 percent from behind the arc.
