Women's Basketball drops to 5-2 in NSAA play after loss to Bellevue

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Women's Basketball team (10-5) suffered their second NSAA loss of the season on Saturday afternoon to the Bellevue University Bruins, 54-73. 

After a strong first half, the V-Hawks went into the locker room tied with the Bruins at 27. Kaitlyn Kennedy led the way for Viterbo with eight points after the first two quarters. The V-Hawks played tough in the second half, but the Bruins capitalized on free throws, making 19 of 22 chances, which was the difference in the game. 

With the loss, the V-Hawks drop to third in NSAA rankings at 5-2 with seven games remaining. Ellie Hoesley led the way for the V-Hawks with 12 points and six rebounds, followed by Kaitlyn Kennedy with 11 points. The Viterbo Women's Basketball team will continue NSAA play on Monday night at Presentation College. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM CST.
