BUTTE, Mont. - The Viterbo University Women's Basketball team secured their first win of the season after a 70-65 final at Montana Tech on Sunday.
Kacie Gross had a team-high 14 points and nine rebounds. Kaitlyn Kennedy was right behind her with 12 points. Freshman Chyna Young scored nine points and had six rebounds and two assists.
Viterbo finished the game shooting 46 percent from the floor and an impressive 73.1 percent from the free-throw line, converting 19-26 of their free throws. Kennedy led the way with free throws, sinking five of her six attempts.
As a team, the V-Hawks had 40 rebounds. The Viterbo bench made a huge impact on the game, scoring 31 bench points. Viterbo's largest lead was nine and came at 9:20 in the fourth quarter.
