Three V-Hawks Earn Postseason Recognition

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday their selections for the 2026 Softball All-Conference rosters. The CCAC Selects one player in each position to be a part of the "Gold Glove" team as well as a first and second team, each being comprised of 20 individuals. This year, the V-Hawks represent three of the selections.

Alexis Watson was named to the first team, receiving All-Conference honors for the second time in her career, improving from a second team selection last season. Freshman Ava Anderson and Sophomore Elie Klar both earned spots on the second team for the first time in their careers.

Alexis Watson, Sr., First Team – Alexis earns first team honors this year after a breakthrough season. The senior pitched over 150 innings this season for the V-Hawks, averaging 3.79 strikeouts per game. She finished the season with a 4.59 ERA and a 0.914 fielding percentage. From the plate, Watson had 131 at bats. Through her appearances, Watson recorded 55 hits, 36 RBIs, and a home run. She broke the single-season program record for doubles with 18 this season. Additionally, Watson recorded the third-best single-season batting average in program history (0.420) and an impressive 0.611 slugging percentage. The senior improves to a first team selection after earning second team honors last season.

Ava Anderson, Fr., Second Team – Ava Anderson earns second team honors after an incredible debut season. The freshman appeared in all 49 games for the V-Hawks, making 148 at bat appearances. Throughout the season, Anderson recorded 57 hits, 44 RBIs, 13 doubles, two triples, and nine home runs. The freshman also recorded 14 stolen bases this season as well. She finished the year with a 0.385 batting average and a 0.682 slugging percentage. Anderson has already cemented herself in the V-Hawk record books in just her first year. She is in the top five for single-season hits, RBIs, and runs scored, tying the single-season program record of 44 RBIs.

Elie Klar, So., Second Team – Elie Klar earns second team honors in her first season with the V-Hawks. The sophomore infielder was a key piece to the team's success this season. Klar appeared in 47 games for the V-Hawks with 149 at bats. Throughout the season, she had 62 hits, 14 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 33 RBIs, and 40 runs scored. She closed the year with an impressive 0.416 batting average and a 0.631 slugging percentage. Klar is now in the top five all-time for single-season batting average, doubles, total hits, and runs scored. From the field, Klar recorded a 0.906 fielding percentage with 50 putouts and 85 assists.

The V-Hawk softball team's season ended last week with losses in the CCAC Tournament. The V-Hawks finished their season with a 21-28 overall record and a 16-11 record in the CCAC. Their 21 wins are the most in nearly a decade.
