James named Second-Team All-Conference at NSAA Softball awards banquet
WATERTOWN, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its 2022 Softball All-Conference Teams, Gold Glove team and postseason awards Wednesday evening on the eve of the postseason tournament. The awards recognition was held at the Watertown Civic Arena.
The V-Hawks had one member of their team make All-Conference, Morgan James. James was selected to the NSAA Second-Team after a stellar offensive season. James led the team and was 10th in the NSAA with a batting average of .393. She also led the team in on-base percentage (.461), and slugging percentage (.697). Her eight home runs, nine doubles, and 32 runs batted in also tied for team highs on the season. James finished the regular season with the eighth-most put outs in the NSAA and held a .963 fielding percentage on the year.
The Viterbo Softball team will take the field at the NSAA Conference Tournament tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 PM CDT. The V-Hawks will face No. 1-seeded Bellevue University at the PREMIER Softball Complex in Watertown, S.D. The winner will move on to play tomorrow evening at 5:30 PM CDT and the loser will play a final game tomorrow at 3:00 PM CDT. Follow the action on our website or by following us on social media.
