Styrk Myhre Earns CCAC Attacker of the Week
CHICAGO, Illinois – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday their weekly honors for each sport. The conference honors the best athletes in the conference each week. This week, Styrk Myhre was named the CCAC's Attacker of the Week.
Styrk Myhre earns this honor for the first time in his career after an outstanding conference opening weekend. In his match against St. Ambrose, Styrk put up eight kills on 12 attempts without an error for a 0.667 hitting percentage. He also added two blocks to the tally. In the win over Calumet, Styrk went for another errorless performance. He put up eight kills on just 11 swings for a 0.727 hitting percentage.
In total, the sophomore had 16 kills, averaging 3.20 per set. He got his 16 kills on 23 attempts with an errorless pair of matches to end the weekend with a 0.696 hitting percentage, just under the 0.700 threshold. He totaled 17 points for the V-Hawks this weekend.
Styrk and the V-Hawks went 1-1 this weekend in conference play. On Friday night, they fell to the Bees of St. Ambrose. On Saturday, Styrk helped the team to a 3-0 sweep victory.
