V-Hawks Finish Regular Season with a Win

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Viterbo Men's Volleyball team came out on top in their final regular season matchup at Trinity Christian 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 25-17, 25-16). The V-Hawks rise to 5-29 (CCAC 1-11) while the Trolls sink to 2-22 (CCAC 1-11).

The V-Hawks opened on an error though quickly recovered with a kill by Riley Connors form Logan Amdur. Ethan Davis collecting the next two V-Hawk kills woul lead into back to back service aces by Jack Peroz. Keeping a narrow lead, Alex Kratzenstein would claim a kill. During a six point run by the V-Hawks Max Dugan would grab an ace, backed up by a block by Davis and Justin Kratzenstein and Connors and J Kratzenstein.

Styrk Myhre at the net would grab a kill followed by A Kratzenstein with a group of kills. Strong at the net the V-Hawks would take a pair of blocks, Myhre also taking a kill from Amdur.

Viterbo recovering from a lost set Myhre would open set three with back to back kills, then in a six point run A Kratzenstein and Myhre would take a kill each and a block together. Amdur would sneak in a kill, before Connors would take back to backs until A Kratzenstein would take the final kill of the third.

Connors coming out strong in the final set would take three of the four opening kills for the V-Hawks, Amdur and J Kratzenstein sneaking in a block before Myhre would slam down a pair of kills. The V-Hawks with a strong lead would place Garran Wilming at the net for the kill and an ace to end the match.

A Kratzenstein led the V-Hawks with 17 kills, Amdur with 37 assists, and Dugan with 11 digs. Mason Snodgrass led the Eagles with 16 kills and nine digs.

The CCAC post season tournament will begin Apirl15, highest seeds hosting.
