Moore, Jenkins achieve All-American status at Indoor National Championships

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Viterbo University Men's Indoor Track and Field team was represented by Justin Moore and Gregory Jenkins at the NAIA Indoor National Championships on Friday. Both Jenkins and Moore participated in the Men's High Jump and Men's Long Jump for the V-Hawks.

Both men cleared the first two heights of 1.96 meters and 2.01 meters on their first shot. Then, both men missed clearing the height of 2.04 meters on their first try, but both made it over on their second jump to advance to 2.07 meters. Neither of the two was able to clear 2.07 meters to tie for a seventh-place finish. That seventh-place finish for each of them qualified them as All-Americans in the Men's High Jump.

Next, both men competed in the Long Jump. Jenkins' best jump of 7.06 meters landed him in 11th place overall out of 27 total athletes. Justin Moore's best jump was his second, where he landed at 7.42 meters. That jump made him the fourth-place finisher overall. That place was the top place of the day for a Viterbo athlete. Moore also achieved All-American status in the Long Jump as well.

You can follow Moore, Jenkins, and the rest of the Men's Track and Field athletes as they begin their outdoor season on Saturday, April 2 at the Dingles Brueggen Open in Winona, Minnesota. Follow the action on viterboathletics.com or by following us on social media.
