Men's Soccer dominates on Senior Day

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Viterbo University Men's Soccer took on Maranatha Baptist University at home on Tuesday. The V-Hawks improved to 13-0-1, defeating the Sabercats by a score of 11-0 on Senior Day. Nine different Viterbo athletes found the back of the net in the game, with Alfie Gyurkovits and Harvinder Koner each contributing two goals. 

Viterbo's first goal came in the first ten minutes off of Diego Idrobo (unassisted). Viterbo's fifth goal was knocked in off the head of Gyurkovits, assisted by Conner Erdmann on a cross pass. 

The first goal of the second half was contributed in the first three minutes from Koner, making for his second goal of the game. Koner saw many good looks throughout the match, having four total shots, three of them being on goal. 

Opeyemi Abioye scored Viterbo's seventh goal in the 64th minute on a pass from Koner. Alessandro Lopergolo found the back of the net in the 72nd minute. Then, Viterbo went on a scoring frenzy to close the game out. Aidan Radford, Abdul Samet Ankaoglu, and Polyzois Douvas all scored within the last ten minutes of the game to push the final score to 11-0. 

Viterbo outshot Maranatha 33-0. Neither goalies, Thomas Schroeder or Harry Hauserman, did not allow one goal in the game.
