Men's Soccer Cruises to Victory

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Soccer team (3-0-1) hosted Clarke University on Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks won 6-2, making it their second consecutive game scoring at least five goals.

The V-Hawks were able to get a lead early after Matteo Galeotti (SO/Parma, Italy) scored at 10:29 from Aidan Radford (FR). At 20:53, Conner Erdmann (FR) was able to punch one through to score, making it 2-0. Less than one minute later, the V-Hawks were able to get another goal, this time from Radford from Harvinder Koner (SR/Wolverhampton, England). Abdul Samet Ankaoglu (SR) tacked on one more goal at 34:12 to close out the scoring for the V-Hawks in the first half. Clarke was able to answer with two goals of their own at 37:28 and 39:19, but the V-Hawk defense buckled down and did not allow any more goals for the game.

The V-Hawks added two more goals late in the game from Alessandro Lopergolo (SO/Genoa, Italy) and Alfie Gyurkovits (SR/Cranage, England) to seal the deal. The V-Hawks took 15 shots and had six assists in the game.

The Viterbo Men's Soccer team will be back in action on September 13^th to face Trinity International. The game is scheduled for 4:00 PM CST at the Viterbo Outdoor Athletics Complex.
