JJ Kaczynski is Headed to Nationals, Making History

LA CROSSE, Wis. – For the first time in program history, the V-Hawks will be sending a men's golfer to the NAIA National Championships. This opportunity to compete at a high level of competition comes after sophomore JJ Kaczynski qualified for the National Championships at the conference meet.

This season, only 11 individual golfers qualified for the meet outside of the 29-team field. In order to earn an individual qualification, individuals must be either conference medalists, members of the 2025 NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team, or an at-large selection based on Clippd Scoreboard rankings.

Kaczynski earned his qualification through an individual conference championship just a few weeks ago. The sophomore took first place in the CCAC Championships through three 18-hole rounds, shooting 14 over for the weekend. His conference championship is the first one in V-Hawk men's golf program history.

Kaczynski has a slight edge held over the rest of the field as he mentally prepares for the competition. The NAIA Championships are hosted at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The course is the same one that the sophomore just won the conference championship three weeks ago. His familiarity with the course will give him a mental advantage over other competitors unfamiliar with the course.

The NAIA National Championships are slated to take place beginning May 12 in Silvis. JJ Kaczynski will tee off on day one at 1:20PM with individuals from Cumberlands (KY) and Southwest (NM) on hole ten. On day two, Kaczynski will tee off at 8AM with individuals from the same teams, beginning on hole one.

Following the first two days of competition, the tournament field will be cut. The event will be available to watch on the Urban Edge Network.
