V-Hawks Claim First Victory of Hanson Era
WATERLOO, Iowa -- The V-Hawks opened their 2025 season by heading to the Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course to compete in the Hawkeye Fall Shootout. Throughout the competition, the V-Hawks came out with a team championship, shooting just 11 over for a total score of 299. The V-Hawks also brought home an individual championship with junior Ben Biskupski shooting one under the course par. Sophomore Aaron Mork finished closely behind Biskupski, tying for second with a one-over round.
In addition to the top team, Viterbo competed a second and third team at the invitational as well. The second team took ninth place out of 13 while the third team took 12th. On the second team, JJ Kaczynski had the best round with a 75, tying for seventh place. On the third team, Steffen Larson had the best round with a 79, which earned him a 30th place tie.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ben Biskupski led the way for the V-Hawks with his impressive 71 stroke round. During his round, he was able to claim five birdies and an eagle.
- Aaron Mork shot a 73 on the day, and he added three birdies to the count for the V-Hawks.
- Trevor Hinz tied for seventh place with his 75 stroke round, earning a birdie as well as an eagle on the fifth hole.
- Eli Lindsey tied at 34th place for the V-Hawks with an 80 stroke performance, while Ethan Thomas tied 39th with a score of 81.
NOTABLE
The V-Hawks win marks the first team and individual championship under new head coach Taylor Hanson.
UP NEXT
The V-Hawks return to competition this weekend on September 14 and 15. They will travel to The Meadows Golf Course in Asbury, Iowa to compete in the DuHawk Fall Invitational.
