McSweeney to Step Down as Coordinator of Athletics Communications

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University announced that Delaney McSweeney has resigned from her role as Coordinator of Athletics Communications to accept a position at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

McSweeney joined the V-Hawks in 2025 and has served as the primary storyteller for Viterbo Athletics, promoting the accomplishments of 19 varsity programs through written content, photography, social media, live event coverage, and media relations. Throughout her time at Viterbo, she played an integral role in elevating the department's digital presence while highlighting the achievements of countless student-athletes, coaches, and teams.

During McSweeney's tenure, Viterbo Athletics celebrated numerous conference championships, national tournament appearances, All-America honors, and record-breaking performances. Her work helped showcase the success of V-Hawk Athletics while strengthening the department's connection with alumni, fans, recruits, and the La Crosse community.

"Delaney has done an incredible job during her time at Viterbo", stated Athletics Director, Barry Fried. "She has strengthened the brand of Viterbo athletics, helped us recognize and celebrate our student-athletes and has been a wonderful colleague.  I'm grateful for all she has done at Viterbo and know she will continue to do great things in her new job."

McSweeney will begin her new role with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Athletics Department later this summer.

Viterbo University Athletics will begin an immediate search for its next Coordinator of Athletics Communications.
