21 Winter Athletes Earn NAIA Scholar Athlete Honors

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Tuesday the individuals that received NAIA Scholar Athlete honors. The honor is defined as a student-athlete that has been enrolled at his or her school for a minimum of one year, that is a member of a varsity team, completed at least 30 semester hours, and boasts no less than a 3.50 cumulative GPA. This award is reserved for outstanding student-athletes in the classroom.

Winter athletes at Viterbo University that compete in the NAIA include men's basketball, women's basketball, and competitive dance. Between those three teams, twenty-one athletes were selected as NAIA Scholar Athlete honorees.

Men's basketball had the most honorees with nine of their athletes receiving this honor. Women's basketball and competitive dance each had six honorees this year.
