Colin Adams named conference's Defensive Player of the Week

CHICAGO, Illinois – On Tuesday, January 20, the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their weekly basketball honors. The conference selects an Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week to represent the best players in the conference.

This week, senior Colin Adams earned defensive recognition after an exceptional week of play. On the defensive side of the ball, Adams pieced together 16 rebounds last week, picking up eight in the match against Trinity Christian, and eight against Holy Cross. He also worked to contribute two blocks in each game and two steals in the face-off against Trinity Christian.

Adams also added 27 points between the two games, as well as six assists. Adams' strong performance helped the V-Hawks to secure two conference victories last week against Trinity Christian and Holy Cross.

This is the first time that Adams has earned weekly honors, and it is the first time an individual on the V-Hawk men's basketball team has earned weekly honors since joining the CCAC. The last time a V-Hawk earned a weekly honor was Jack Monis as the NSAA Player of the Week on January 8, 2024, over two years ago.

Colin Adams and the V-Hawks will return home this week on Wednesday, January 21. They will be competing against the Indiana Northwest RedHawks, with a tip off set for 7:30pm. On Saturday, they will travel to Olivet Nazarene to face off against the Tigers at 3pm.
