Dave Lee provided a unique combination of power and speed for Viterbo's baseball teams between 1988 and 1990.

He was a threat to hit the ball over the fence, and he could turn a double into a triple. His ability to steal bases meant that shortly after a single he often was standing on second base, swatting dust from his uniform and preparing to score on any kind of a hit.

Lee had 106 hits for Viterbo, and was named to All-District teams in 1989 and 1990 alone, when he compiled a .402 batting average and was named to the All-District team. He belted six home runs and four triples in 1989, leading the V-Hawks into the District 14 finals. When he graduated he was first in career home runs, with 12, and first in triples, with 10. He left with the second-highest career batting average, at .368, was second in stolen bases, with 35, and third in runs batted in, with 83.
