It was a quiet morning in the city of La Crosse as the Viterbo volleyball team slowly dragged ourselves out of bed. The sun had not yet risen when we loaded up the vehicles with our over stuffed luggage. On the long journey over to the Minneapolis airport, many of us slept, read, and talked about murder and mayhem. After stopping at McDonald's on the way to fill our empty stomachs, we finally arrived at the airport. Everyone managed to pass inspection with all of our baggage and so we boarded the plane. We passed the time on the tiny airplane, by listening to music, reading magazines, and most definitely sleeping.
Upon arrival in San Diego, our train of enterprise vehicles got separated in the hustle and bustle of the crazy traffic. We eventually all made it to the magnificent hotel and wasted no time in hitting up the beach. The song California Girls was the perfect tune as we walked onto Mission Beach of the West Coast. The huge salty waves swallowed us while we splashed and swam in the Pacific Ocean. Our long day caught up to us eventually and so we decided to pack it in for the night. Pizzas and hot tubbing was the perfect end to our first day in California.
