Bobbi (Brown) Vandenberg is beginning her 21st season as head coach of the women's basketball team at Viterbo University. The V-Hawks have a mark of 291 wins and 342 losses under Vandenberg's direction, and have posted 20 or more wins in four of those seasons. Of the past 13 seasons, Viterbo has finished no lower than third place in the Midwest Classic (Collegiate) Conference six times.

The 2004-05 V-Hawks earned the program's second MCC Championship and second trip to the NAIA Division II National Tournament by winning the 2005 MCC Tournament. The 2000-2001 V-Hawks finished with a school record 30 wins and the program's first MCC Championship as they finished undefeated in conference play. They earned their first bid to the NAIA Division II National Tournament and were the highest ranked athletic team in the history of Viterbo, with a final NAIA Division II ranking of #4 in the nation. Coach "V" was named MCC "Coach of the Year" for the 2000-2001 and 2004-05 seasons and Co-Coach of the Year for the 2001-2002 season after a second place finish in the MCC and 20-13 overall record.

Vandenberg, a native of Denver, Colorado, was head basketball coach at Boulder High School from 1982-1987 and from 1988-1992. She compiled a 183-27 record there, and won the Colorado girls' state basketball championship five times. She was named Coach of the Year five times by the Denver Post. She also taught chemistry and biology at BHS.
 
Vandenberg is a 1982 graduate of the University of Colorado, earning a bachelor's degree with a double major in biology and biochemistry, along with a teaching certificate in natural sciences. She played basketball for the Buffs from 1976-1979.Vandenberg and her husband, Joe, live in La Crosse with their 19-year-old son, Patrick who is a freshman at the University of Denver, and their 17-year-old daughter, Mollie.

Assistant Coach: 3rd Season

Brooke Anderson is in her second season as an assistant coach for the Viterbo Women’s Basketball Program. Anderson joined the V-Hawks staff after playing three full seasons in the last five years for the V-Hawks. She missed two full seasons with ACL injuries in each knee, but during her rehabilitation she served as a student manager one season and a student assistant coach the other season. Anderson saw action in 92 games including making 79 starts in her V-Hawk career. In three seasons, Anderson averaged 5.28 points per game, 2.83 rebounds per game, and 2.3 assists per game. In her career, Anderson was named MCC Academic All-Conference three times and was named an MCC Honorable Mention All-Conference selection as a senior.

Anderson graduated from Viterbo in May of 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then went on to recieve her Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Licensure at Viterbo in May of 2013. As an assistant coach, Anderson plays an integral part of the coaching staff in all areas including on floor coaching where she specifically works with the guards, camps, and is the primary recruiting coordinator with Coach Vandenberg. Anderson also works at Aquinas High School as a para-professional working with special needs students.

Assistant Coach: 4th Season

Sally Colby is in her third season as an assistant coach for the Viterbo Women’s Basketball Program. Colby joined the V-Hawks staff after playing the previous three seasons for the V-Hawks. In Colby’s three seasons in a uniform she saw action in 72 games and made 35 starts. She finished her career averaging 6.73 points per game and 4.77 rebounds per game. Due to multiple knee injuries, Colby was forced to cut short her athletic career and decided to move into the coaching realm spending her fourth year (2011-2012) as a student coach.

Colby will graduate from Viterbo in December, 2013 with a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on youth development. As an assistant coach, Colby plays an integral part of the coaching staff in all areas including on floor coaching, specifically with post players, recruiting, camps, and is in charge of all community service projects.
