La Crosse, Wis. – Viterbo University Men's Basketball Coach Wayne Wagner announced today that La Crosse Logan standout Vince Kube (La Crosse, Wis.) has signed a letter of intent to play for the V-Hawks this coming basketball season.
"Vince is a quality young man that is a tremendously proven athlete on so many fronts," commented Coach Wagner. "His overall abilities as a player and his work-ethic have prepared him well for this next step. We are very pleased to have a local talent like Vince becoming a part of the Viterbo Basketball family."
Kube, a 6'2" guard, joins the V-Hawks after having a stellar athletic career for the Rangers of La Crosse Logan High School. Kube excelled in all three sports he played at Logan, as he was a first team all-conference selection in football and basketball and a second team all-conference selection in baseball. On the basketball court, Kube averaged 15.8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game as a senior. He was also named to the La Crosse Tribune All-Area Second team.
"I am very excited to make my decision to play basketball and continue my education at Viterbo University," stated Kube. "This is a great opportunity for me both academically and athletically and I am really looking forward to this fall. It was also an important factor in my decision to stay close to home as I really enjoy La Crosse and the support Viterbo receives from the community."
Kube was a four year varsity letter winner for the Rangers. Kube received honorable mention all-conference honors his sophomore and junior seasons and was named team MVP and team captain as a senior. He finished his high school career by scoring over 850 points.
"Vince provides another key piece in the potential growth of our current team," commented Coach Wagner. "We were looking to find college-ready athletes that could challenge our returners and provide greater depth and production in our rotation. Vince is a great candidate to do just that."
Kube will pursue a degree in business at Viterbo University.
