Marion, Ind. – Completing her first season of college track and field, Bea Foley (Sr. – Greenville, Wis.) earned a pair of top-10 finishes at the 32nd Annual NAIA Women's Track and Field Championship. The senior from Greenville, Wisconsin, qualified to compete in both the 10,000 meter run and the marathon.

In a humid and hot Thursday evening race, Foley settled into the top 12 four miles into the 10,000 meter run and held off several challenges to her position to finish in 38:01.36. Foley finished the 22 person event in tenth place.

"The warm and muggy conditions made this a tough night for the competitors to run fast times in the distance events" said Coach John Metelko. "In the final 2 miles, Bea battled to defend her position and she finished strong. It was a challenging race and great championship performance."

Returning to competition on Saturday morning, Foley faced a field of 45 athletes and a course of 26.2 miles on a humid morning in the women's marathon championship. After experiencing stomach cramps between miles 16 and 18, Foley recovered to pass three competitors in the final 2 miles to finish tenth overall in 3 hours, 12 minutes and 52 seconds.

With the outdoor national championship behind her, Foley finished her senior year with a 27th place finish at the NAIA cross country nationals, 6thplace (3000 meters) and 12th place (5000 meters) finishes at NAIA indoor track nationals, and 10th place (10,000 meters) and 10th place (marathon) finishes at the NAIA outdoor track national championships.
