
La Crosse, Wis. – The Viterbo University women's soccer team was recently honored for their performance in the classroom. The National Soccer Coaches Association recently honored the V-Hawks with their Team Academic Award.
To be selected by the NSCA to receive this award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all team members of who appeared on the fall roster. As a team, the V-Hawks had a cumulative GPA for the 2010-2011 academic year of 3.17.
Leading the way for the V-Hawks academically is junior Lauren Neet (Plover, Wis.) who also recently received an academic award. Neet was selected by the NAIA as a Scholar Athlete. To be named a scholar athlete, students must have a 3.5 or higher GPA as well as a junior academically. Neet is pursuing a degree is Viterbo's top academic program, Nursing.
