La Crosse, Wis. - Viterbo University softball players Kacey Moline (Sr. - Pepin, Wis.) and Betsy Ward (So. - River Falls, Wis.) were honored by the Midwest Collegiate Conference earlier this week. Moline earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors while Ward was named to the All-Conference First Team.

Moline saved her best season as a V-Hawk for her senior as she had by far her best offensive numbers. Starting all 48 games she played in, Moline finished second on the team in hitting with an average of .311. She led the team in hits (46), runs scored (27), and RBI's (26). Moline also found a power surge as she finished second on the team in homeruns (6). Playing center field for the V-Hawks, Moline committed just two errors all season.

For Ward, this is the second straight season that she has been named to the First Team. Ward started all 52 games for the V-Hawks while leading them in hitting (.313) and doubles (11). She finished second on the team in hits (45) and third on the team in runs scored (19), RBI's (22), and home runs (3). Splitting time between catcher and third base, Ward finished with a 93.8 fielding percentage.

As a team, the V-Hawks finished 11-41 overall and 10-22 in MCC action. Their season came to an end as they went 0-2 in the conference tournament. Moline was the lone senior on the team this season and first year head coach, Andrea Tsilis, is hopeful that the V-Hawks can build on the experiences they had this season.
