La Crosse, Wis. – Four Viterbo University women's cross country runners earned Midwest Collegiate Conference honors as announced today by the MCC office. Seniors Bea Foley (Greenville, Wis.) and Kriston Siemianowski (Bangor, Wis.) were named to the MCC First Team while senior Cindy Leuck (Cashton, Wis.) and junior Rosemary Loken  (La Crosse, Wis.) earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.

"Each of these four student-athletes had remarkable seasons," commented Head Coach John Metelko. "Bea continued to lead our team all season, Kriston continued to improve throughout the season and will have an opportunity to race at Nationals. Cindy had her strongest season which was capped off by a top ten finish at conference and Rosemary battled back from some tough breaks in training to finish in the top ten at conference for the third straight year."

This is the third straight season Foley has been named a First Team All-Conference selection. Foley finished second individually at the MCC Championships for the third straight season as well. She finished the 5-K course in a time of 19:15. By finishing second individually, Foley qualifies for the 2011 NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash. Foley will be looking to improve on her performance at the 2010 national championships when she finished 23rd individually and was named a NAIA All-American.

Like Foley, this is not the first time Siemianowski has been a First Team All-Conference selection as she received the same honor last season. Siemianowski finished just behind Foley at the MCC Championships as she finished the course in a time of 19:40 for third place. Siemianowski will join Foley at the NAIA National Championships for her second appearance at the national meet. She finished 48th at last year's championships in a time of 18:50. Foley and Siemianowski will compete at the championships on Saturday, November 19th.

Leuck is honored for the second straight season as she was also a MCC Honorable Mention All-Conference selection as a junior. She picks up the honor by finishing ninth at the MCC Championships in a time of 20:23. Leuck missed qualifying for the national meet by just one spot and finishes her V-Hawk cross country career as one of only two runners to finish in the top seven in 26 of her 27 career races.

For the third straight season, Loken is honored by the MCC as she was named First Team All-Conference as a freshman and a sophomore. She finished just four seconds behind Leuck to finish tenth overall. This will be the first season Loken does not compete at the national championships as she had her freshman and sophomore seasons.

As a team, the V-Hawks ran a great race at the championships and just missed out by two points on a second straight conference championship. The V-Hawk harriers will now switch gears focus on the newly started V-Hawk track team. The indoor season has started with practice already and will include their first meet in January.
