Oshkosh, Wis. - The Viterbo men's and women's bowling teams competed well for the third straight weekend. The V-Hawk women finished in third place out of nine teams in the Titan Invitational in Oshkosh, Wis. and the men finished 8th out of 22 teams.

"It was an important weekend for the team," said V-Hawks Coach Jim Socha. "The focus was on the right things and the chemistry was outstanding."

The Viterbo women were led by Megan Jirsa (So. - La Crosse, Wis.) who finished fourth in the individual competition on Saturday.Jirsa rolled six games with a high score of 231.Kendra Bundy (So. - Tomah, Wis.) and Marsita Pizl (Fr. - Antigo, Wis.) tied for eighth place individually.

"Beside Jirsa, Bunday and Pizl, I thought Chelsie Kraus (Fr. - Onalaska, Wis.) was great. And Rachel Schalow (So. - Marshfield, Wis.) really bounced back with a super performanceSunday after struggling on Saturday" said Socha.

On the men's side the V-Hawks were led by Greg Pizl (So. - Antigo, Wis.) who averaged 200 over six individual games on Saturday. In Sunday's Baker format, Ian Kyte (So. - La Crosse, Wis.) gave the team a huge spark.

"I can't say enough about Ian Kyte," said Socha. "Here'san incredibly supportive teammate, who had never bowled on our varsity and he came in an absolutely lit it up!His strike percentage was off the charts. Having guys who can come in off the bench is very important."
