La Crosse, Wis. - Greg Pizl (Antigo, Wis.) will enroll at Viterbo University next fall and becomes the first student-athlete to commit to the new V-Hawk bowling program announced Head Coach Jim Socha. Pizl signed a letter of intent at Antigo High School on Wednesday, November 18 stating his intent to bowl for the V-Hawks in 2009-10.
"Being the first to committ to Viterbo shows that coach (Jim) Socha has a lot of confidence in me," commented Pizl. "I'm really excited to be part of a new program."
"Greg is one of the best high school bowlers in Wisconsin," said V-Hawks Men's and Women's Bowling Coach Jim Socha. "I'm impressed by that, but I'm just as impressed by what kind of a person he is. Having so many people come to support him at the signing ceremony shows you he's doing things the right way. He'll be a real leader for our program."
The V-Hawks first bowling season is scheduled to start in fall of 2009. "I can't wait to get started" said Pizl.
