La Crosse, Wis. - Scott Buschman (Sr. - Naperville, Ill.) joined an elite group Friday night in his last game as a V-Hawk as he became just the third player in Viterbo University history to score more than 2,000 points in a career.
Buschman entered the Midwest Collegiate Conference Semifinals game against William Penn University needing just eight points to reach the milestone. He eclipsed the mark with Viterbo's first made basket of the second half with a dunk less than two minutes into the half. The two points gave Viterbo a 39-33 lead which they ultimately surrendered to the visiting Statesmen who went on to win the game and advance to the MCC Championship game.
Buschman finishes his career with the third most points scored by any V-Hawk (2,007). He finished 23 points behind Luke Maher (2,030) and 20 points behind Mark Skogen (2,027). Buschman also led the MCC in scoring this year averaging 20.4 ppg which was the highest in his career.
