La Crosse, Wis. – Another very balanced offensive attack led the #1 ranked Viterbo University volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-12, 25-18 win over Presentation College. 

Junior Hannah Erickson (JR/Holmen, Wis.) got the V-Hawks going in the first set as she served straight points including two aces. Presentation would not get any closer than six the rest of the first set. Viterbo finished with 12 kills in the opening frame while Presentation was limited to just eight kills and a .037 hitting percentage. Freshman Katie Frohmader (FR/Fort Atkinson, Wis.) led the V-Hawks with four kills in the first set.

 Viterbo jumped on Presentation early in the second set and never let off the gas pedal as they jumped out to a 17-5 lead. Freshman Maya Roberts (FR/Watertown, Wis.) and Miah Garant (FR/Fort Atkinson, Wis.) each had four kills during the opening run to spark the V-Hawks. Viterbo finished with 16 kills and just 2 errors in the second set while Presentation was limited to just seven kills and a .025 hitting percentage.

Presentation put up a fight in the third set as they opened the game with a 7-2 run. Viterbo then scored 10 of the next 13 points to take a 12-10 lead. Presentation would tie it up at 13-13 before Viterbo scored five straight to lead 18-13. The Saints closed to within two (18-16) but Viterbo scored seven of the final nine points to take the third set 25-18. Senior Natalie Geidel (SR/West Bend, Wis.) finished with eight kills and no errors in the final set while Viterbo had 20 kills as a team.

For the second night in a row, the V-Hawks hit better than .300 (302) and finished with 48 kills for the match. Viterbo's defense held Presentation to just 23 kills and a .055 hitting percentage. Geidel finished with a match high 16 kills while Frohmader added 8 and Garant chipped in seven. Amelia Grahn (SR/Madison, Wis.) had another great all around match as she finished with 40 assists, 5 kills and 6 digs. Senior Baylee Gross (SR/West Bend, Wis.) led the defensive effort for the V-Hawks as she had a match high 21 digs.

With the win, Viterbo improves to 20-0 overall and 7-0 in the North Star Athletic Association while Presentation falls to 13-9 overall and 3-6 in conference action. Viterbo will be back in action next when they travel to Des Moines, Iowa to play in the Grand View University tournament.
