
The Lady V-Hawks lost the championship game of the Viterbo NAIA Invite to St. Xavier 41-87. Viterbo had a 4-2 lead early in the first half; however that would be their only lead as they were no match for St. Xavier's athleticism.
In the first half Viterbo would get down early and could not amount a comeback. St. Xavier went on run after run and were hitting from all over the court. They shot an excellent percentage along with 5-7 from 3 point range.
The second half would be much of the same. St. Xavier did not let up as they continued excellent shooting and hit 62% of their shots. Nothing was working for Viterbo. Viterbo shot a dismal 23% for the game, however did win the rebounding battle 39-26. Leading the V-Hawks for the game were Joni Stanek (Sr. - Kendall, Wis.) with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Dani Templin (Fr. - Richland Center, Wis.) with 9 points and 2 assists. Stanek also made the all tournament team with her excellent play and solid hustle.
The lady V-Hawks will be in play again on November 17th as they host UW - Stevens Point at the R.W. Beggs Center.
