La Crosse, Wis. - The Viterbo University volleyball team had two players earn Midwest Collegiate Conference weekly honors. Senior Heather Harelstad (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) was named MCC Libero of the Week while junior Jenna Lau (Eau Claire, Wis.) was named MCC Player of the Week.
Harelstad and Lau played an integral part in the V-Hawk success this past weekend which saw them go 4-1 and win the UW-Eau Claire Tournament. At the UW-Eau Claire tournament, the V-Hawks pulled off one of its biggest wins in recent history as they upset #19 ranked UW-Eau Claire.
At times this season, Harelstad has single handedly kept the V-Hawks in the match with her defense. Harelstad finished last week with 88 digs in five matches. She finished the week with a .985 serve percentage and a .974 serve receive percentage. As much of an impact Harelstad has had on the V-Hawk defense the same could be said for Lau on the V-Hawk offense. Lau finished the week with 50 kills (10 per match) and an impressive .432 hitting percentage.
