La Crosse, Wis. - The Viterbo University Men's Golf Team finished 7th in the 14-team Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational hosted by UW-Eau Claire.

Derrick Meier (So. - Chilton, Wis.) led the V-Hawks shooting 77-75 (152) in the 36 hole event. Meier's effort was good for fourth place overall. "It's probably the best ball striking tournament I've had in three seasons" said Meier.

The scores might be a bit deceiving since both rounds were played in very windy conditions. "Derrick is really starting to play well" said Viterbo Head Coach Jim Socha. "I think he and the rest of the team will be ready for our home event.I'll be very surprised if we don't play well."

Viterbo hosts the third annual Ronnie Eastman Invitational October 4th and 5th at the La Crosse Country Club in Onalaska, Wisconsin.

Billy Pearse (Fr. - Holmen, Wis.) finished in a tie for 18th at Eau Claire. "Billy has beensolid sinceday-1. He's an outstanding player with a great attitude" said Socha.

Shawn Keenan (Fr. - Embden, Maine) and Jason Jorgensen (So. - Onalaska, Wis.) tied for 44th place. Jordan Kerska (Fr. - Sparta, Wis.) tied for 62nd place overall.
