
Lake City, Minn. - The Viterbo University women's golf team used a record day on Saturday to help them finish ninth out of eighteen teams. The V-Hawks carded a school team record of 336 on Saturday followed by a 341 on Sunday for a two day total of 677. For the first time in school history, the V-Hawks had all five players scored under a 90 in a round. Gustavus Adolphus College won the tournament with a two day total of 628.
For the fourth straight tournament, freshman Chelsey McCoy (Brookfield, Wis.) led the way for the V-Hawks. McCoy shot an impressive 78 on Saturday followed by an 80 on Sunday to finish in seventh place with a 158. As has been the norm for the V-Hawks, Lauren Lindsley (Fr. - Green Bay, Wis.) followed McCoy with a two day total of 169 tying her for 34th place. Finishing right behind Lindsley was Chelsea Dunnum (So. - Viroqua, Wis.) with a 171. Melanie Truax (Fr. - Trempealeau, Wis.) and Amanda Kastenmeier (Jr. - Green Bay, Wis.) rounded out the scoring with a 179 and a 186, respectively.
Viterbo will finally get a chance to show off their talent on a local course as they host the annual Viterbo Invitational on Sunday, September 27th and Monday, September 28th. The invitational will be held at the La Crosse Country Club on both days.
